I’ve been to this place a few times but today is the first time I really got to feel the vibe of the place. While it was crowded it was so wholesome to see folks giggling in line after deciding to order “ La Tóxica” one of their more iconic coffee drink options. I ordered it Iced with oat milk it comes with a pre-house made horchata base topped off with some house made cafe de olla which is delicious. While this is a coffee shop the star of the show was the “brown pride” cake slice I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this especially if you’re someone who appreciates MOIST & flavorful cake. It was truly, one of the BEST cake slices I’ve ever dad. The chocolate frosting has a hint of coffee almost like a double chocolate espresso icing I LOVED it!!! I appreciated the culture & the intentions behind every little detail of the shop including the photography, house music, & exit door with papel picado w coffee shop favorites!

$9 for a small drip coffee and plain bagel before tip. Cool little neighborhood cafe with a nice cafe menu. Way expensive to make it a regular spot for me. Worth a try.

Best Latte hot/iced in the city. If anyone has never been, you need to try....all is good with a large amount of options of sugar free syrups. That's very rare with Coffee shops in Chicago. Great place for Pilsen ?

This is the third time I have come here for a breakfast sandwich and the third time I have requested no cheese. Each time my sandwich has been served to me with cheese. This time in particular, not only did I say it, but the male cashier confirmed, and then I re-confirmed.

When I went back into the shop to let them know I had requested no cheese, I handed it to the shorter woman in a light colored tank took the sandwich from me. As I turned to wait outside, I overheard one of the two women working say "She didn't say 'no cheese'". I turned back around because I couldn't believe what I heard and the male cashier who originally took my order just made eye contact and turned around without a word or apology.

The exact same sandwich was then given to me with just the cheese scraped off. If that was a comfortable step, I would have just done it myself. I hope people who have severe dairy sensitivities or allergies are wary of this shop. I hope gloves were used in the scraping of the cheese.

Not only was it incredibly disappointing to have my order given to me wrong on multiple occasions, but a clear lack of customer service and common courtesy was frustrating and hurtful. I highly recommend visiting other coffee shops in the neighborhood that foster a much more friendly and customer-oriented environment.

Price advertised on the menu is 30-50% lower than what they actually charge.

Employees said it has been like this for a few weeks until they get a new sign. Then just charge the new price when the new sign is installed? Feels like it’s illegal/false advertising. People should know what they’re buying and for how much especially when a customer agrees to buy what is listed on the menu at a certain price. I have never been to any business that does not honor the prices on their menu.

Their predatory pricing belongs in wicker park or Logan square not Pilsen.

Highly recommend going to cafe jumping bean instead - honest truly local business with honest prices and great coffee.

Edit: after a few weeks, all the prices on the menu have been removed. There are currently NO prices on the menu.

I’ve visited this spot quite a few times, but lately I haven’t had the best experience. They increased their prices and don’t have them listed — my large latte was more than $7 and I can’t taste any coffee in it, just milk. If I’m paying that price, I’d expect at least 3 or 4 shots of espresso in the cup. I think the only difference in latte sizes is the amount of milk.

Lots of specialty sugary coffees offered. When I ordered a simple iced Americano, it was extra watery and disappointing as it tasted like water & cream, instead of espresso. $7 down the drain and going forward, I’ll get my coffee down the street.

it was my first time trying a cup of joe ever it was a okay experience, the staff are wonderful kind and helpful. The coffee itself for my personal tastebuds is really sweet, if you are looking for something similar to the taste of starbucks this is the place to be. The lids of the cups cause for the coffee to spill everywhere, every time you tilt the cup to take a sip of your coffee it spills EVERYWHERE. I ordered a bagel and I felt it was very salty as well.
